I can watch something I've previously TiVo-ed while something else is being recorded, but I can't change the channel while a program is being recorded.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Actually, we have a cable splitter, and the VCR is on a different feed than the cable/TiVo, so technically we could watch something on the VCR feed, or we could hook the TiVo up to the VCR feed, but then we wouldn't get the pay channels (HBO, Showtime, etc.) on that feed, and really, what's the point of having TiVo on that line?&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;So I know that's way too complicated an explanation, but it does piss me off that your ghetto cable DVR can do what my neato TiVo can't.  On the plus side, my TiVo has a DVD recorder, and that's pretty darn cool.  :)</description>
